We hope to use this as a forum to inform those who may wish to know more about the neighborhood and surrounding communities. To this cause we hope to provide suportive and current information. The history of Edgewood Acres began in 1910. Edgewood Acres Subdivision was created by the "General Realstate Co. " December 22nd 1910, E. J. Spencer, President. The subdivision's location being noted as 40.5 acres of township parcel #5 in Franklin County fromerly known as a portion of the "Refugee Lands". Documents were filed by the then Franklin County Auditor F. M. Sayre on December 31st 1910 and recorded by the County Recorder, W. T. Pierson that same day at 11:45 AM. The Noble & Dole Surveyor's, surveyed the above land tract and verified correctness on January 10th 1911. The City of Columbus extended utilities to the new subdivision and homes were erected. You will find architecture from the early 1900's through the late 50's and 60's giving a wonderful charm to the neighborhood.
As you can see from the "Location" page we are just a few minutes from the Downtown Columbus activites, nationally recognized hospitals and medical care, internationally renouned uiversities and the headquarters of many corporations. All this and the ability to live in a quiet suburban-like neighborhood.
